i don't mind people practicing metaphysical stuff, but i do find it ... not sure what, sad? that people get stuck in one idea and basically waste time exploring things that are very likely just their imagination running free, and trying to connect the dots, interpret things in a way that would make sense. When I see people practicing metaphysics, I wonder about two things. do they care if what they believe is true? and more importantly, do they care if what they tell others is true?

I wonder if one could use the mindspace to achieve psychedelic states. It is well documented that with enough meditation one can achieve such results, I think the wonderland could perhaps expedite the process with the right symbols and visualization techniques

i think it can be a good aid, it gives you a place where you can change your surroundings more than you can reality. create even non euclidian wonderlands if u want, must be a fun time

From what I understand from my experience with jedi and sith is that the former encourage asceticism and lack of attachments while the latter encourage hedonism and passion.

I don't really see many overlaps there. Jedi seems much more aligned with existing religions, what's with a divine power/dimension that creates Haves and Have-nots, ruling over everything pretty much like a deity

I was just about to say this, I'm friends with quite a few Satanists, and I know that for atleast the semi theistics Sithism is a fully accepted satanic path

There are numerous actual schismatic orders from the Jedi and then there are Jedi who disagree with the dogma of the order. Qui Gon is a notable film example though not exactly well explored. Another that comes to mind is Jolee Bindo from KOTOR, who goes into extreme detail about the Jedi being wrong for avoiding attachment.

The long and the short of it is everything or only what's shown. Various sources partition various powers toward Jedi and Sith, and various sources also show Jedi doing lightning and force-crushes and so on, whereas others say that's purely a hateful Sith thing to do, and that the only way to use the force offensively is with malice.

Some Jedi can do a light side version of force lighting

There's not much consistency on that front.

The ones that have good taste I suppose? Personally I prefer the original movie depiction where the force just isn't separated into a whole load of powers at all. Having it be almost minor yet mysterious and omnipresent is better storytelling than having a vancian magic system. (edited)

In the original trilogy it's depicted as being used for telekinesis, expanding the senses, and communication across large distances with people who you already have a connection with. And of course, the lightning, right at the end.

If you're asking about the force generally, it's almost entirely a lift from Taoism in terms of what it is. Including that it can be used for magic. It's the underlying nature of reality, an energy, or a will, that drives all of life. (edited)
